Mythbusted: The "Forbidden" Fitment

If you own a 2WD Frontier or a King Cab and you’ve tried to buy the official Nismo Off-Road Lift Kit, you’ve probably run into a wall.

You go to the official Nissan website, type in your VIN, and get the dreaded red text:
"This part does not fit your vehicle."

Most dealers will stop right there. They point to the screen, shrug, and tell you you're out of luck. They are wrong.

Proof in motion: This is our shop D41 Crew Cab, but the suspension geometry is identical for King Cab & 2WD models.

Why does the catalog say "No"?

It comes down to how corporate catalogs are built. Often, if a specific trim level (like a 2WD King Cab) wasn't part of the initial engineering validation test group, the lawyers mark it as "Excludes" by default. It doesn't mean the part physically won't bolt on; it just means they didn't pay to test that specific combination.

The Reality: The suspension geometry (strut towers, lower control arms, leaf spring perches) on a 2WD Frontier is mechanically identical to the 4WD PRO-4X. The Nismo kit bolts up exactly the same way.

The "Stance" Factor (2WD vs 4WD)

The only difference to be aware of is the final stance:

• 4WD Models: The kit levels the truck almost perfectly.
• 2WD Models: Since 2WD trucks sit slightly lower in the front from the factory (lighter weight without the front differential), you might see a slightly *more* aggressive lift, but it aligns and drives perfectly.
