Nissan Titan 4WD Actuator Motor (33254-EZ20A) Technical Guide
SOLVED: The "Service 4WD" Mystery on 2017+ Titans
Is your A61 Titan flashing a "Service 4WD" warning? If you have a 2017-2024 model, the culprit is likely sitting on the front passenger side of your differential.
Watch: 360° Part Inspection
Verify your connector and housing shape before you buy.
The Failure Point: Plastic vs. Metal
The Actuator Motor (33254-EZ20A) is responsible for engaging the passenger-side front axle shaft. However, the most common failure isn't always the motor itself—it's the housing.
The OEM unit utilizes plastic threads that screw directly into the metal front differential housing. Over time, heat cycles and vibration can cause these threads to deform or the seal to fail.
Technical Notes & TSB Info
- ⚠ Common Symptoms:
Gear oil dripping from the front passenger side diff, flashing 4WD light, or Codes C200B / C200C. - 🔧 Installation Warning:
Because the threads are plastic, DO NOT over-torque. - 📝 The Nissan Fix (NTB23-023):
Nissan recommends applying a thread sealant (like Three Bond 1217H or RTV) to the threads during installation to prevent future leaks.
